Nowadays, cybersecurity threats are common and do not only affect devices such as computers and smartphones. Smart devices are widely used in many industrial sectors e.g. in. energy sector. Therefore, cybersecurity of this infrastructure is becoming one of the most important issues and should not be ignored.
This issue became the subject of the debate „Security of energy networks in Poland – the voice of European technology suppliers for the sector”, which took place as part of the Rzeczpospolita „Biznes na nowo” series.
Among the participants was Pawel Pisarczyk, CEO of Phoenix Systems, who discussed the so-called „3D energy sector transformation” – Decarbonisation, Decentralization and Digitalization. Paweł emphasized the role of the smart meter in this transformation and stated that the next generation meter will act as a programmable, in-house energy manager, rather than just a measuring device with remote reading capabilities. This leads to the conclusion that smart meteri cybersecurity is crucial for the stability of the energy system.
