rm

rm command is a utility for removing files or empty directories from the filesystem.

Usage

rm [-d] FILE...

Options

  • d: Allows the removal of empty directories in addition to files.

Arguments

  • FILE...: A list of one or more files or directories to be removed.

Examples

Remove a File:

rm file.txt

Remove an Empty Directory:

rm -d dir
