COGNIT project presented at the "Measurements and Diagnostics in Power Grids" Conference

2023-06-01

Today we presented COGNIT project at the 8th edition of the "Measurements and Diagnostics in Power Grids" Conference organized by PTPiREE (VIII Konferencja Naukowo-Techniczna “Pomiary i diagnostyka w sieciach elektroenergetycznych”) - an event aimed at expanding knowledge and exchanging experiences in the field of, among others, issues related to measurements in power grids using new measurement and diagnostic technologies.

Our CEO, Pawel Pisarczyk, and COO, Kaja Swat, introduced the audience to the idea of a new distributed Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) paradigm for edge application management and its use in the energy sector on the example of developing smart energy meters based on the Phoenix-RTOS operating system.

"These meters are designed like computers and can act as energy assistants, helping to effectively manage energy-intensive devices (e.g. heat pumps, EV chargers), inverters and energy storages." - said Pawel Pisarczyk - "Only such a solution enables real-time energy management and effectively supports self-consumption, i.e. the use of energy that we generate ourselves in the first place, making it both sustainable and cost-effective."

"This is our response to the call of the European Commission to work together towards a more sustainable digital future for a technologically-sovereign Europe. Our AI-enabled adaptive serverless framework, developed as a result of the COGNITproject, will provide applications with secure and portable access to a continuous data processing environment, e.g. for such smart energy meters." - added Kaja Swat

COGNIT project is funded under the HorizonEU programme in response to the SovereignEdge.EU initiative.
